How to Prepare Your Mix
Before You Send:
Organize your session (clear track names)
Bounce stems properly (sample rate, bit depth)
Include reference tracks (2-3 songs)
Write clear notes about vision/goals
Make sure all edits/timing is locked
File Organization:
Naming conventions: [Song][Instrument][Version]
Folder structure: Stems / References / Notes
What to include: DI tracks, MIDI, vocal takes
What NOT to include: Reverb/delay tails (unless intentional)
Communication:
What I need to know upfront
How to describe what you're hearing
Reference track do's and don'ts
Feedback best practices
Common Mistakes:
Sending MP3s instead of WAV
Forgetting to bounce from bar 1
Over-processing stems (let the mixer mix)
No reference tracks (I'm guessing your vision)
